Taiwan-Kaohsiung

Fo Guang Shan (Chinese: 佛光山; pinyin: Fóguāngshān; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Hu̍t-kong-san; literally "Buddha's Light Mountain") is an international Chinese Mahayana Buddhist monastic order based in the Republic of China (Taiwan), and one of the largest Buddhist organizations. The headquarters of Fo Guang Shan, located in Kaohsiung, is the largest Buddhist monastery.The temple buildings are magnificent and spectacular, especially the Giant Buddha statue. Surrounding the Giant Buddha are 480 smaller golden Buddha statues, which create an atmosphere of solemnity.
















• Lotus Lake (Chinese: 蓮池潭; pinyin: Liánchí Tán; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Liân-tî-thâm) is a man-made lake and popular tourist destination on the east side of Zuoying District in Kaohsiung City in southern Taiwan. Opened in 1951, it is famous for the lotus plants on the lake and the numerous temples around the lake, including the Spring and Autumn Pavilions (春秋閣), the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas (龍虎塔), and the Confucian Temple (孔廟).

Dragon & Tiger Pagoda is one of the most well known Temples around Lotus pond.The dragon's mouth is the entrance, while the tiger's mouth is the exit.Entering the dragon's mouth and coming out from the tiger's mouth symbolizes turning bad luck to good fortune.
